Elizabeth M. Wallencheck. As Principal/Consultant at Nexus, Elizabeth offers clients her expertise gained from 20 years of experience in all aspects of career management and job-search strategy. Her background includes delivering comprehensive career-transition services to professionals at all levels within business and industry, including senior executives, as well as providing career services in higher education. Most recently, she served as a career-management consultant for Right Management, a leading global human-resources consulting firm.
Throughout her career, Elizabeth provided personalized career-assessment and job-search consulting to individuals in an extremely wide range of fields. She also successfully developed and presented interactive workshops on a variety of career-related and personal-development topics.
Elizabeth has produced a variety of instructional materials and has published “Cover Letters from Start to Finish” in the Job Search Handbook for Educators produced by the American Association for Employment in Education (AAEE), and “Personalizing the Use of Self-Assessment Instruments in Career Counseling” in Insights: The Student Affairs Monograph of Ohio University. She also served as Associate Editor of AAEE’s Higher Education Job Search: A Guide for Prospective Faculty Members.
Elizabeth is currently a member of the National Career Development Association, the American Society for Training and Development - Central Ohio Chapter, and the Columbus Association for Psychological Type. In addition, She has served as newsletter editor and board member for the Ohio Association for School, College, and University Staffing for several years; as well as for the American College Personnel Association’s Commission for Career Development; and has been a member of the Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers.
Elizabeth earned a Master of Science/Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling and Personnel Services from the State University of New York at Albany and a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio University. She is qualified to administer the Strong Interest Inventory®, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®, and the Birkman FirstLook. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a recipient of the “Hazel Brown Placement Award” from the Ohio Association of School Personnel Administrators.
